Türkiye is playing a critical position in global jewelry trade and focusing on sustainable production practices to compete in international markets. Particularly in sectors like jewelry, which work with precious raw materials, the efficient use of natural resources, adoption of ethical business processes, and minimization of negative environmental impacts are of great importance. This approach not only ensures compliance with global standards for industry players but also provides a competitive advantage in exports.
As one of the most prestigious B2B events in the jewelry world, IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show leads the industry toward its sustainability goals. Through the "Better Stands Program’’, the exhibition encourages exhibiting companies and contractors to use long-lasting and recyclable materials instead of disposable stands, contributing to the widespread adoption of sustainable transformation practices within the industry.
The Number of Turkish Members of Responsible Jewellery Council Increased by 70 Percent
IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show continues to make a difference in the industry with its leadership in sustainability. Since becoming a supporting member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) in 2023, the show has increased the membership of Turkish jewelry companies in this platform by 70%. By organizing informative seminars and promotional activities, IJS encourages industry professionals to join the RJC and transition to sustainable production.
Additionally, the exhibition promotes awareness and incentive efforts in areas such as utilizing local suppliers, choosing eco-friendly hotels for accommodations, promoting public transportation, using LED lighting equipment in stands, and prioritizing waste recycling.
